Where in the World...
Sorry for the delay in posting. Chad left with his brother and some friends for a backpacking/canoe trip in Canada (Boundary Waters) on July 23rd. As a result, Henry and I have been doing some traveling of our own. We joined up with my Mom (his Nonni) to go to my hometown of Kankakee, IL. We visited lots of family and friends. Then we went to Nonni's house in Jackson, MO for a few days, and now we're back home. We'll be anxiously awaiting Daddy's return at the end of the week! Hopefully, I'll get a chance to post some pictures of our adventures soon.

Watch Me Eat
Here's a video of Henry having some cereal. Just so you know, he's not wearing a bib because at this point bib equals bottle, and I don't want things to start on a sour note.
The Exersaucer
My Aunt Dodie let us a borrow an Exersaucer that her oldest granddaughters had outgrown. We were very excited about it...a new place to put him while we eat or are in the shower. No, really, we were ready to see him interact with it and have some fun! The video is not going to keep you on the edge of your seat or anything, but if you love the little guy it's sweet to watch. It sort of looks like he's waving at you. By the way, Chad does the video editing.

Dinner is Served?
Henry is now trying "solids." (In quotations because in the world of speech-language pathology I think it would just be considered thickened liquids). He has rice cereal about once a day. Here's some photos from his first try. These days (like a week later) he sits in his high chair and tolerates it pretty well. Maybe even likes it...

Henry's First Trick
Henry rolled over for the first time on July 2nd as witnessed by his Nonni. He now performs this trick periodically for us, much to our enjoyment. Luckily, we were able to catch it on camera! By the way, Henry is 4 months old today!

First Trip to the Zoo
Chad and I just up and decided to go to the zoo with Henry. It's a great thing to live so close to St. Louis, you don't have to plan much in advance. It was a hot, muggy day, but we went as early as we could (10 am) and left around 12:30. Henry tolerated it very well, and we were rewarded with many smiles. He loves to watch Cooper the dog, so we thought that skill might transfer to some other animals. He did seem to enjoy the penguins (if you haven't been to the St. Louis Zoo, you get very close up in this exhibit). We told him the same story our parents told us by the chimpanzees. You know, this is your real family... it didn't seem to phase him. He took a little nap in his stroller and had his bottle in the reptile house. I'm sure we'll be going back again before too long. Yay zoo!

Fourth of July Celebration
On July 3rd, my sister and her family came up to our house. We went to Henry's first Gateway Grizzlies baseball game. Here he is between his cousins Eva and Eli. My brother-in-law, Bob, picked out these matching outfits for them! Sweet!
The new family at the Grizzlies Game.
Henry decked out in his 4th of July outfit (from Aunt Teresa) wishing everyone a very Happy Independence Day!Whew! What a weekend!
