Why not get up on a Friday morning and head to the Science Center? That's just what we did this week.

Again, I missed a lot of photo opportunities at my cousin's wedding! It was a beautiful ceremony and reception. Where are the darling bride and groom? How about a nice family shot? Well, I have Henry on the dance floor. He just loves to bust a move. Who knew?

"Driving My Car" - The Cozy Coupe Story

A garage sale find by his grandma, this Cozy Coupe has earned its stripes as a Henry favorite. He loves to drive his car and really takes ownership! He can do some pretty fancy back-up and spin moves (a stuntman in the making like his third cousin Merritt?) And, yes, that's his cloth diaper in the back...perfect spot, wouldn't you say?

First Camping Trip - Lake Shelbyville, IL

Well, he hasn't slept in a tent yet, so his Daddy may not consider it "real" camping. Nevertheless, we spent the weekend with his Grandpa and Grandma in their camper at Lake Shelbyville. (I also ran my 5K in the Neoga Days race on Saturday).

Who Loves the Zoo? I Do!

It's fun, it's free, it's educational, and it's close (so we don't have to squeeze everything into one visit). On this trip we arrived before 9:00AM, so the Children's Zoo was free. This little area surpassed our expectations. It was definitely worth getting up and out of the house early.

And yes, Henry wasn't really looking at the camera in any of these pictures. I guess it was just that kind of day.

Brownies!

The other day Henry and I had fun making brownies. The part I found most amusing was while I was busy pouring the batter in the pan, Henry climbed into his highchair, buckled his belt, put on his bib, and was holding his tray. I looked up, and there he was ready to eat! I explained that he might want to get down because the brownies have to bake in the oven next, and it will be a little while before we can eat them (that darn, pesky baking part!). As you can see, it was worth the wait!

Shriner's Parade 2010...3 years in a row, it's a tradition!

We joined our friends Amy, Carlos, and Jerard and lots of their family for dinner and the parade. We're always surprised how early folks put out their chairs for this event! It's the place to be in downtown Belleville! We really get summer break started on the right foot. You can't beat good, old-fashioned, free, family fun!
